My name is Taylor Lindsay-Noel and I'm 22 years old from Toronto. I'm currently a radio and television arts student at Ryerson university with the intent of becoming the next big name in both radio and television entertainment host. I'm a daughter, godmother and most recently comfortable calling myself a writer.
When did you start creating poetry? Tell us a little about your journey.
After a gymnastics accident left me a quadriplegic in 2008, I sought out a new medium to express myself which inevitably led to discovering my knack for poetry in 2010. Originally it was a therapeutic release but now it's my greatest passion.
How would you describe your poetry?
My poetry is a mixture of inspirational quotes and hallmark inspired pick me ups as I like to refer to them as. It also speaks true to my inner sassy side which at times resonates with my female following.
What inspires your poetry?
My poetry is inspired by any and everything but most commonly from experiences and deep life chats with my best friends during our weekly wine nights.
What is the process you take to write your poetry?
My process is strictly write as soon as the inspiration hits you no matter where or what I'm going. My iPhone is filled with notes and pieces waiting to be completed.
Why did you start your Instagram account?
I started my Instagram account just under one year ago after my friend insisted I do so. She was persistent and told me more people would gravitate to my work... I guess she was kind of right.
Why is sharing your poetry special to you?
Sharing my poetry is important to me because as humans we are different but on a soul level we can relate to others in soo many ways. Knowing my words can potentially inspire or help someone is beyond humbling.
What do you want people to take from your poetry?
I want people to feel like their feelings are justified and they're not alone. I want them to understand that their emotions are valid.
What are the top three favourite poems you have written and why?
Would you ever publish your poems?
I've been offered two publishing deals since sharing online but my soul doesn't feel ready for that journey. I want to grow as a person and read more and when the time is right create a collection of work worthy of a best sellers label.
What plans do you have for the future in terms of your poetry?
I before I'm 30 hope to release a best selling poetry book that will have a national impact. Go big or go home!!
